Central areas of Saskatchewan had the largest variance in November temperatures—but all centres were above normal.
Saskatoon’s temperature was 4.4 degrees above the normal monthly mean making its the 16th warmest in the last 125 years.

November was generally dry across the province, except for some southern area that received some snow in the first part of the month.

The current satellite photo reveals some of the snow remains on the ground. (The areas inside the yellow line have a bit of snow cover, while those outside have no snow cover)

Environment Canada meteorologist Terri Lang says there is no way to predict whether it will be a white Christmas this far in advance. She adds the chances of a so-called ‘green” Christmas increases during an El Nino year like we will experience this winter.
Christmas Day has been classified as ‘green’ five times in Saskatoon since 1988. Environment Canada has compiled the following chart for all areas of the country. It can be viewed here.
