Around a hundred Registered Nurses with the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses and their supporters marched between St. Paul’s Hospital and Station 20 West over the noon hour today (Mon) to highlight what the union describes as long waits in emergency rooms, missed treatments, cancelled procedures, and avoidable hospital admissions.
Saskatoon nurses from St. Paul’s and Royal University Hospitals are speaking out about what they feel is the critical state of their hospitals and their concern for patient safety, saying there hasn’t been enough action on dangerous overcrowding, the unsafe conditions for patients in emergency departments, and the worsening shortage of registered nurses throughout the health care system.
