After being held off the scoresheet Friday against Moose Jaw, the Saskatoon Blades’ top offensive performers bounced back Saturday to pace the Bridge City Bunch to a 4-1 triumph over the Swift Current Broncos.
Captain Trevor Wong and left winger Brandon Lisowsky both registered a goal and two assists while right winger Egor Sidorov (pictured) scored a highlight reel winning goal plus a pretty, back-hand shot on a 2-on-1 rush for the insurance marker to give the Blue and Gold’s top line all the goals and eight scoring points for the evening, in front of 4,782 fans at SaskTel Centre. Only Ryan McCleary beat rookie Blades’ goaltender Evan Gardner as Saskatoon out-shot Swifty 41-27. The win was the fourth straight at home for the Bridge City Bunch, the eighth consecutive victory, head-to-head, over the Broncos and upped the Blue and Gold’s overall record to 15-6-0 – three points ahead of Prince Albert and Moose Jaw in the W-H-L’s East Division. The Blades hit the road Sunday on their longest swing away from SaskTel Centre for the season – seven games, the first six against each team in the U-S Division, plus a finishing December 1 contest in Lethbridge. The first stop is Tuesday in Wenatchee, Washington against the Wild. Following are the audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast, Post-Game Show interviews with head coach Brennan Sonne, Lisowsky and newcomer defenceman Carter Herman plus the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L…..
