A 29-year-old man went into medical distress while in police detention in Saskatoon Saturday morning.
At 6:30 am, a detention paramedic noticed the man, who was brought into detention an hour earlier, getting agitated and going into medical distress. The man’s condition continued to worsen as paramedics assessed him, and he was taken to hospital.
He is currently in critical condition, and his family has been contacted and are aware of his condition.
As required by The Police Act, 1990, the Saskatoon Police Service notified the Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) of the incident.
A SIRT Investigator will then be assigned to review the investigation.
