Light snow and freezing rain are on the menu for areas east and north of Saskatoon Saturday night, and early Sunday morning.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Eric Dykes says a weather system from Alberta is bringing about 5 centimetres of snow to areas surrounding and north of the Highway 16 corridor. However, the freezing rain is what he warns the public about.
People who have plans to drive anywhere east and north of Saskatoon this evening or tomorrow morning are being reminded to check highway conditions and have caution on the highways.
Fortunately, he says it is a fast-moving system. The brunt of the system will arrive overnight and will move eastward into Manitoba before the work week begins.
