There will be an eclipse of the sun Saturday.
In Canada it is a partial eclipse and the best spot to view it is in the southwest corner of British Columbia where the sun will be 70 to 80 per cent eclipsed.
In Saskatchewan the start of the maximum partial eclipse is around 9:30 a.m., it peaks at 10:33 a.m. and ends at 11:50 a.m. You can check out this cosmic event Saturday from nine to noon at the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan site in a safe way with telescopes and binoculars set up to prevent damage to your eyes from looking at the eclipse.
Tim Yaworski is a member of the Astronomical Society of Canada and says the eclipse Saturday in Saskatchewan will block about 50 per cent of the sun plus there is another partial solar eclipse visible in Saskatchewan on April 8th next year.
A ninety per cent eclipse will take Place in Oregan, Nevada and Utah. The event at Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan is a ticketed event which are available here.
