Former Premier Grant Devine has been appointed to the USask Board of Governors for his second term. Former Premier Brad Wall appointed him for his first term five years ago.
Then and now the provincial NDP questions why. Official Opposition Whip, Aleana Young says Devine’s confidants, close friends and senior staff diverted taxpayer dollars into numbered accounts and stole more than $800,000 from the people of Saskatchewan. Over a dozen Devine insiders were criminally charged. “Grant Devine’s party was reduced to a handful of members and they only regained power after merging with the Liberal Party and re-branding as the Sask Party, and now Scott Moe’s government has decided that disgraced former Premier Grant Devine should be appointed to the University of Saskatchewan’s Board of Governors.”
The NDP is calling on the Premier to reverse his appointment.
