Calgary, Alta. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Prince Albert Raiders goaltender Max Hildebrand has been named WHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending September 24, 2023.
Hildebrand posted a 28-save shutout in his season-opening appearance, helping the Raiders claim two points in the Club’s home opener Friday, September 22 versus the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Hildebrand, who hails from Martensville, Sask., earned his first career WHL shutout in Friday’s victory and for his efforts, he was named the game’s First Star.
During the 2022-23 WHL season, the 19-year-old appeared in a career-high 32 games for Prince Albert, collecting an 11-14-3-0 record along the way.
He was originally selected by the Raiders in the 13th round of the 2019 WHL Draft and in 38 career WHL regular season outings, Hildebrand holds a career 12-17-3-0 record, a 3.57 goals-against average, .877 save percentage and one shutout.
Max Hildebrand and the Prince Albert Raiders are next in action Wednesday, September 27 when they visit the Brandon Wheat Kings (7:00 p.m. CT, Westoba Place).
