A Regina man wanted on charges of sexual assault is now facing several firearms-related charges, as well.
At 6:20pm Wednesday, officers from the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit, SWAT team, and Canine Unit searched a home in the 4700 Block of 4th Avenue.
Investigation led officers to believe a man wanted on charges of sexual assault was at the house and that he was in possession of firearms.
The 38-year-old suspect attempted to flee but was stopped by members of the Canine Unit. After he was taken to hospital with minor injuries, officers searched the home and say they located an assault rifle, a semi-automatic firearm, and ammunition and magazines for both weapons.
Forrest Pelletier now faces 14 charges and was expected to make his first court appearance Thursday in Regina Provincial Court.
His charges include
- Sexual Assault
- 2 X Possession of a Firearm
- 2 X Careless Storage of a Firearm
- 6 X Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
