The City of Prince Albert and the Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division will be partners on upgrades to Max Clunie Field at Prime Minster’s Park.
The Harry Jerome Track will be converted into an artificial turf surface that will replace the natural turf. The track needs repairs and was in poor enough condition that Prince Albert could not host a provincial track and field event.
Prince Albert City Council approved a recommendation on Tuesday that the City’s portion of $750,000 be paid from the Future Infrastructure reserve.
The City of Prince Albert and the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division have jointly built, operated, and funded Prime Minister’s Park for many years through a joint-use agreement dating back to the 1970s.
