Three Regina men were arrested over the weekend after surveillance footage spotted them exchanging firearms.
On Friday, Regina police were called to the 2200 Block of 12th Avenue after a business owner who observed two men exchanging what looked like a gun on his security camera. As officers watched the footage, they heard from two nearby patrol officers that they had arrested a man that matched the description of one of the men in the video.
The man was carrying a large knife and a sword and was in fact the man that handed a gun to the other suspect in the video. Through investigation, police determined he was also wanted for a taxicab robbery that took place on June 22nd. The man stole cash, as well as the taxi, which was later found abandoned.
A man that matched the description of the second suspect was located in the 1400 block of Garnet Street. He had a firearm, ammunition, and a bladed weapon; however, he was not the suspect in question. He was wanted on a warrant and was arrested. The next day right before noon, the second suspect from the video was located and arrested. He was in possession of bear spray and a firearm that matched the one from the video.
