A man was dealt a fine that cost him over $34,000 Sunday. Police allege there was 58,000 un-stamped cigarettes inside his vehicle.
At 8:45 p.m., police watched a grey SUV make an illegal turn across a solid yellow line in the 1400 block of Central Avenue. After stopping the vehicle in a nearby parking lot, police say they found large quantities of unlabeled tobacco products hidden under blankets.
The 31-year-old man received a $34,487.60 fine under the Tobacco Tax Act, as well as a traffic ticket.
