Now that it’s warmer, you will see more construction equipment on Saskatchewan highways.
The provincial government is reminding travelers to keep an eye out for construction zones across the province. One of the major projects is passing lanes and widening on Highway 5 from Saskatoon to Highway 2. A news release from the province says the plans are to improve 1,000 kilometres of highways.
The Ministry of Highways will also invest almost $63 million to repair or rebuild 14 bridges and replace more than 100 culverts.
Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association President Shantel Lipp says, “Provincial road builders employ close to 30,000 workers, making our industry one of the largest employers in the province and they are working to build Saskatchewan.”
