The physical work toward a new Weyburn General Hospital is beginning. Wright Construction Western Inc. will be on site in the next few weeks, hauling week trailers, equipment, tools and supplies and will remove topsoil in the building area.
A news release from the province says the new hospital will include an EMS garage and an adjacent heliport, 25 acute care beds, and a 10-bed mental health in-patient unit will be transferred into the hospital from Tatagwa View, a nursing home. Construction is expected to begin in June and the target for its completion is December of 2025.
