The City of Prince Albert is now under a fire ban, as of late Tuesday afternoon.
Due to the Fire Weather Index’s current and predicted conditions for the grassland and forest fringe area, the fire ban for Little Red River Park has been extended to include all City of Prince Albert boundaries and areas north of the North Saskatchewan River. That included Hazeldell, Nordale and all property east of Little Red River Park to the city limits at the Pulp Haul Road. No open fires are permitted. Exceptions are for cooking and heating purposes from self-contained heating devices, gas barbecues, propane fire pits, charcoal briquettes used in an approved fire pit. In addiiton, recreational use of approved fire pits within the City, south of the river is not currently affected by this ban, which will remain in effect until further notice.
