If you ordered a crib that turns into a bed from Amazon, this recall may be of interest.
Health Canada has issued a recall of the BabyTeddy 7 in 1 Convertible Baby Crib Wooden Baby Cot.
Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined the slats of the crib can break posing entrapment and injury hazards to infants. And the gold paint used on the crib contains lead in excess of allowable limits. Health Canada says lead is highly toxic, especially to children.
Consumers who have this affected crib should immediately stop using it and safely dispose of the item in such a way that it cannot be used again.
Health Canada says a range of serious health effects have been associated with exposure to lead and cadmium, including anemia, vomiting, diarrhea, serious brain injury, convulsions, coma, as well as effects related to the liver, kidneys, heart and immune system. In extreme cases, there have been deaths.
The affected product was sold by BabyTeddy Canada Baby Products Ltd. on Amazon.ca and can be identified by the Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) B08KK9MJ5V.
