The police presence and lane closures on Idylwyld Drive North and 32nd Street West on Tuesday were the result of a stolen vehicle.
At 4:00pm, police officers located a vehicle with a license plate that had been reported stolen. Police say two people were inside the vehicle. One was taken into custody and released without charges. The other attempted to run away but was caught shortly after. Once arrested, the 37-year-old man provided a false name to officers. He was also found to have someone else’s identity documents. The vehicle the pair were in was also confirmed to be stolen. The man faces charges of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, two counts of Possession of Stolen Property, two counts of Possession of Identity Documents Relating to Another Person, and Obstruction.
