OUTSaskatoon announced nine layoffs on Wednesday and the organization says it has accepted the resignation of their Executive Director.
OUT Saskatoon issued a news release indicating that they saw a major increase in demand during the pandemic and expanded their counselling, education, youth housing, among other services but have not had funding levels increase to sustain their growth.
OUTSaskatoon Board Chair Melody Wood says they have taken steps in regard to staffing in order to be able to continue to serve the community.
The organization will continue to provide Pride Home, Counselling, education and two spirit and gender-based violence programming for the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
