Two people died in the three-story multi-unit home fire in Moose Jaw on Thursday. Emergency crews found the home engulfed in flames. The Moose Jaw Police Service says officers are working to identify the individuals and notify their next of kin.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The Moose Jaw Police Service, the Fire Department, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Office continue to investigate. The scene of the fire is still deemed unsafe and the public is asked to avoid the area around the 200 block of Athabasca Street West.
A Facebook post from Brady Playford says he, his girlfriend, two year old daughter and their roommate all got out safely, along with their pets, but they have nothing left but the clothes on their backs.
