CJWW Agriculture Director Neil Billinger spoke to well-known agricultural commentator Kevin Hursh prior to Christmas.
Hursh writes a weekly column for the Western Producer, writes articles for Farm Credit Canada publications and is the executive director of the Canary Seed Development Commission of Saskatchewan. He also farms in the Cabri area in southwestern Saskatchewan.
We cover several topics in the interview including land values, fertilizer emissions, tight margins for cow/calf producers and the need for higher canola production with new crushing plants slated to come online in two or three years. Kevin begins with an overview of the 2022 crop.
