More people are living in our province than ever before with the latest population exceeding the 1.2 million mark.
A total of 1,205,119 people called Saskatchewan home as of October 1st. That was up 22,135 from October 1st, 2021.
Meantime, the third quarter population growth of 10,316 is the largest since Statistics Canada began releasing quarterly population estimates in 1971. A net international migration of 10,553 was largely responsible for the increase.
Premier Scott Moe says at the current rate of growth, Saskatchewan will reach its Growth Plan goal of 1.4 million people by 2030.
