Brandon Lisowsky’s (pictured) 100th career W-H-L point was a bullet shot to Kyle Kelsey’s stick side at 3:53 of overtime Friday as the Saskatoon Blades out-lasted the Rebels 4-3 in Red Deer.
It was a game where the Bridge City Bunch took three leads, only to have the home side even the score three times, the last being Mats Lindgren’s power play tally with nine seconds left in regulation time and Kelsey on the bench for a sixth attacker. Jayden Wiens, Trevor Wong and Jordan Keller gave the 18-5-0 Blue and Gold leads of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2, respectively. The win was the third straight for the Blades and the third win in the five-minute extra period in all three games Saskatoon has gone beyond 60 minutes this season. The Bridge City Bunch, who out-shot the 18-4-4 Rebels 30-24, got two assists from defenceman Tanner Molendyk while Lisowsky’s 99th career point earlier in the game was an assist. The Blue and Gold finish off three games in Alberta in four nights Saturday when they pay their second and final visit of the regular-season to Medicine Hat. Game time is 8 p.m. with CJWW’s broadcast at 7:45.
