Well, it’s December, and that means thoughts turn more and more to Christmas. Before you know it, the season referred to in song as “The most wonderful time of the year” will have come and gone and so will the year 2022. Speaking of songs, on radio stations like this one in which music makes up the largest portion of the day, we will be hearing Christmas music, songs of the season. First there will be just a sprinkling of tunes in the early part of the month with the frequency gradually increasing as we get closer to Christmas Eve. There are the traditional favourites that never get worn out like White Christmas, Jingle Bell Rock, Sleigh Ride for example, and then by Christmas Eve there’s Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, O Holy Night and the other famous Carols. I realize there are a few people who think radio stations play too much Christmas music too soon and then there are those who want to hear more and sooner. It’s hard to please everyone. For those who crave more songs of the season there is a radio station in Saskatoon that can satisfy that craving. It’s the sister station to this one at 92.9 FM. For 11 months of the year, it’s called the BULL but yesterday, December 1st, the BULL went into the barn, figuratively speaking, and out came 92.9 the REINDEER, exclusively playing the songs of the Christmas season, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week right through December 25th.
