In the aftermath of Tuesday’s mini-purge of the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ coaching staff, Wednesday’s release of the C-F-L’s division all-star teams was another example of the Green and White not earning any respect for their dismal 2022 performance.
Only Canadian receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker was voted to the West dream team. He was second in homebrew wide receivers with 960 receiving yards for the year, compiled through 68 catches, five of which went for touchdowns.
Meanwhile, league passing leader McLeod Bethel-Thompson and C-F-L outstanding player award winner Zach Collaros top the respective division all-star teams. The C-F-L unveiled the East and West Division all-star squads Wednesday, which were selected by fans, voting members of the Football Reporters of Canada and the league’s nine head coaches. The C-F-L all-star squad will be named next week. Winnipeg, at 15-3, and Toronto, at 11-7, who finished atop the West and East Divisions, placed 11 and 16 players on their respective divisional squads. Following is the all-star news release from the Riders…..

KIAN SCHAFFER-BAKER IS A WEST DIVISION ALL-STAR
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are pleased to announce Canadian receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker has been named a West Division CFL All-Star.
Schaffer-Baker has had a stellar sophomore season in the Green and White, setting new career highs across the board with 68 catches for 960 yards and five touchdowns. Schaffer-Baker finished the season 11th in the CFL and second out of all Canadian wideouts in receiving yards. A dynamic player with the ball in his hands, Schaffer-Baker earned an eye-popping 412 yards after the catch. The Mississauga native recorded five catches for 170 yards and a touchdown in a Week 12 victory over the B.C. Lions and three catches for 110 yards in Week 17 against the Blue Bombers.
