It turns out the Saskatoon Blades will be making a selection, 37th overall, in Friday’s C-H-L Import Draft.
Faced with a Thursday deadline of deciding what to do with Finnish forward Brad Lambert’s rights, the Bridge City Bunch traded them to Seattle for guaranteed fourth and sixth round picks in the 2023 W-H-L Prospects Draft, plus a conditional first round choice in 2023 and a second rounder in 2024. The 18-year-old Lambert is the son of former Blue and Gold forward Ross Lambert while his uncle is another former Blades’ star forward in Lane Lambert, now the head coach of the N-H-L’s New York Islanders. Brad Lambert has played the last two seasons in Finland’s top pro league and is a likely first round selection in the July 7th N-H-L Draft. Saskatoon picked him in the 2020 C-H-L Import Draft. They will have Belarus forward Egor Sidorov with them this fall after he potted 23 goals as a rookie this past campaign. Following is Les Lazaruk’s full conversation with Blades’ President and General Manager Colin Priestner (pictured) with regards to the Import Draft…..
