The Weather Network suggests near normal or above normal temperatures for a good portion of Canada this summer. The summer forecast is out but in terms of Saskatchewan achieving normal it might be due to the back-and-forth swings in temperature which should come close to offsetting each other for most of the region including Winnipeg, Regina and Saskatoon.
There will be heat waves, but the heat will be interrupted by periods of cooler weather. However, southwestern parts of Saskatchewan, including Swift Current, are expected to tip to the warm side of seasonal, while northern parts of the region are expected to tip to the cool side of normal. Overall though it is expected to be a cooler summer than last summer.
As well, some rather intense storms are expected this summer which meteorologist Jessie Uppal refers to as the ring of fire. But The Weather Network suggests that where storms occur there will be lots of rain however, regions outside the storm centre could remain quite dry.
