The University of Saskatchewan’s annual plant sale has begun with proceeds going towards hiring summer students to help develop new Saskatchewan hardy fruit cultivars. During the pandemic they moved online and that became a popular option, so now it’s a hybrid of online and in person. Online sales continue through Sunday and then in-person sales are next Friday and Saturday, June 3rd and 4th.
The virtual option focuses on fruit plants, and then in-person, there will be fruit plants and various ornamentals. Some of the fruits available are apples, cherries, black currents, and strawberries. The ornamental plants include coleus, geraniums, succulents and myrtle.
