Rock Solid Trucking Ltd has been fined $37,100, including a $10,600 surcharge after pleading guilty to two violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations in Swift Current Provincial Court. The charges stem from an incident at a worksite near Cadillac on August 18th of 2020, when a worker was injured while operating a loader. The violations were being an employer or contractor where a defect or unsafe condition in powered mobile equipment is identified, but steps aren’t taken immediately resulting in the serious injury of a worker, and failing to give notice to Occupational Health and Safety as soon as is reasonably possible when there is an accident where a worker is required to be admitted to a hospital for 72 hours or more.
