Russia has demanded the surrender of Mariupol in exchange for opening two routes to get residents out of the city. Ukrainian officials rejected the proposal. Media reports yesterday indicated 90 per cent of the buildings have been bombed by Russian forces.
Poland has taken in more than two million refugees fleeing the fighting in neighbouring Ukraine.
U-S President Joe Biden will visit Poland during his trip this week to Europe. There are talks planned with NATO and European allies.
Here in Canada the government reports that the Job Bank’s Jobs for Ukraine webpage, which has already had over 54,000 visitors has also had 9,000 applications. The web page allows Canadian employers who wish to support Ukrainians with offers of employment to register these offers online.
