Golfers on Saskatoon’s west side will have an improved driving range come next year.
The City of Saskatoon is planning on making improvements to the driving range at the Holiday Park Golf Course. The City’s planning, development and community services committee endorsed a $150,000 project to improve the range by installing a synthetic turf for hitting and improving the pathways.
Lynne Lacroix, the City’s general manager of community services says the installation of a synthetic turf will allow the City to open the driving earlier in the spring and stay open later in the fall.
The project is fully funded by the course’s capital reserve fund. It’s expected the upgrades will be ready in time for the 2023 season if passed by City Council.
A similar project was undertaken at the Silverwood Golf Course in 2019.
