Veteran Saskatchewan Rush offensive dynamo Mark Matthews (pictured) and recently-acquired goaltender Eric Penney achieved personal milestones in Saturday’s 17-16 overtime setback to Panther City in Fort Wort, Texas.
Matthews reached the 800 career point mark when he scored Saskatchewan’s opening goal in the first quarter. Matthews and Dan Lintner each recorded a hat-trick for the Rush. Penney, meanwhile, stopped his 2,000th career National Lacrosse League shot. The 28-year-old was acquired from Philadelphia two weeks ago for a draft pick.
