A man who was originally charged with second degree murder in Saskatoon’s eighth homicide of 2020, but pleaded guilty to manslaughter was sentenced earlier this month. Joel Yuzicapi was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in jail, a lifetime firearms ban and was also given a DNA order. On August 1st of last year, 27 year old Preston Logan Thomas was found dead in a room at the Saskatoon Inn. Yuzicapi and Thomas were known to each other.
