Melfort and area patients in need of a Computed Tomography scanner will no longer need to travel to Prince Albert or Saskatoon for those appointments.
A new C-T scanner has been serving patients at Melfort Hospital since August 23. Completion of the $2.25 million project was marked today (Thursday) by local officials, physicians and staff at Melfort Hospital, along with Saskatchewan Health Authority representatives, Melfort M-L-A Todd Goudy plus Mental Health and Addictions, Seniors and Rural and Remote Health Minister Everett Hindley. By having C-T services operating at maximum capacity in Melfort, that will meet the increasing demand for C-T services in Saskatchewan and help reduce the backlog of C-T patients due to the COVID-19 disruption.
