The August mean temperature was very close to normal—a big departure from the near continuous heatwave in July. Environment Canada reports all major centres were within half-a-degree of the long term average.

August precipitation varied greatly with large amounts received in southern areas, while central regions needed some end of month showers to approach the long-term average.
Environment Canada also released statistics for the ”meteorological summer” (June-July-August) Temperatures were above normal while precipitation varied based on late August rainfall. June and July were much drier than normal.
