Sunday morning around 2:30, Carrot River RCMP, Fire Services, and EMS responded to a fatal two-vehicle accident, about 5 kilometres north of Carrot River on Highway 23. The collision involved a car with a lone driver and a school bus transporting 12 adults from a gathering in the area.
A 19 year old woman from the Carrot River area, in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver and passengers did not report any serious injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist.
Parkland Ambulance in Prince Albert says that just after four o’clock Sunday afternoon, Paramedics responded to a quad incident on the Wahpeton First Nation. A 14 year old boy, 16 year old girl, 12 year old boy and a 14 year old boy were injured when two quads collided. All were take to local hospital in good and stable condition.
