SaskPower is spending over $7 million in Regina’s central business district this year to upgrade its electrical system and improve reliability.
Throughout the summer and fall SaskPower will be replacing underground cables, switches, and duct banks. Crews will also replace or remove other equipment that is at or near the end of its life.
Shawn Schmidt, Vice President, Distribution and Customer Services says, “This work will help bolster the reliability of the electrical grid and help pave the way for the future throughout the city of Regina.”
SaskPower has poured $45 million into the city since the Regina Downtown Improvement program started in 2012.
