Perhaps it is a reflection of the rural nature of Saskatchewan but the top 10 most stolen vehicles in Saskatchewan in 2020 includes nine trucks and one van.
On Wednesday, the Insurance Bureau of Canada released its top 10 list of most stolen vehicles in Canada and said there were three themes which emerged. With more vehicles equipped with technology like keyless entry remotes, IBC notes that electronic auto theft is on the rise across the country and many high end SUVs continue to be stolen for export As well, cases continued to crop up where vehicles are given a false VIN and are sold to the unsuspecting.
Saskatchewan Government Insurance says the list for this province remains pretty consistent with recent years. The top three include the Ford F150 Supercrew 4WD, the Ford F350 SD Crew Cab 4WD Diesel and the Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4WD. All but the Dodge Grand Caravan SE, in tenth spot on the list, are pick up trucks.
