The Saskatchewan Government and General Employees’ Union says the provincial government needs to do more than just consider a work-from-home policy. It says the government has dropped the ball on protecting people in the province. A draft remote work policy for government employees was prepared but put on hold because of the election. Barry Nowoselsky, Chairperson of the SGEU PS/GE bargaining unit says, “It’s time to implement this policy and allow our workers to access it.” He says many of their members could work from home, reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Nowoselsky say the government needs to practice what they preach.
