David Kirton is a long time Saskatoon broadcaster who has taken a leave of absence from his job to campaign and he says if elected, he will retire and become a full time City Councillor, ready to answer every phone call and email from residents.
While door knocking for the campaign, Kirton says he has found the big ticket items are not what people are talking about, other than crime and safety. He is also hearing about speeding issues on both John A MacDonald Road and Diefenbaker Drive, and poorly maintained back alleys. Kirton says affordability and transparency are key issues.
He also promises to ask the right questions of the City’s administration because he has seen in the past how a plan can go off the rails if people are not asking the right questions.
