Visitor restrictions have been enacted at Cypress Regional Hospital and at 21 long-term care and personal care homes in southwest and west-central Saskatchewan.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority says it’s to contain the spread of COVID-19 because of the increased risk in these areas.
At the Cypress Hospital, family members or support people will only be permitted for compassionate reasons.
No other visitors are allowed.
For the long term and personal care homes, visitation will be restricted to outdoor visits and end of life care.
Family members and support people who are permitted will need to be verified and will undergo a health screening when they arrive.
The SHA is encouraging families to consider other ways of connecting, including phone calls or video calls.
