SaskEnergy will once again provide low income homeowners free furnace maintenance this fall.
The program is called the Tune-Up Assistance Program (TAP) and is in it’s fourth year highlighting the importance of annual maintenance of natural gas home heating systems and carbon monoxide detection.
The program sees SaskEnergy team up with a network of plumbing and heating contractors to provide hands on examinations of a home’s heating equipment to make sure it is ready for the winter months.
In 2019 the TAP program assisted 401 homeowners in 36 different communities and SaskEnergy says it plans to exceed last year’s numbers.
Along with the inspection those accepted will also receive a carbon monoxide alarm, two furnace filters and up to $100 in repairs.
Applications are being accepted now from low-income homeowners at SaskEnergy’s website.
