The 59th edition of the Central Amateur will be held in 2021 instead of later this month.
The annual men’s amateur golf tournament was cancelled Wednesday by the organizing committee from the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club (pictured) due to concerns and circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The Central, sponsored by Reliance Gregg’s, is part of the Golf Saskatchewan Order of Merit Tour and one of the last tune-up events ahead of the Provincial Amateur Men’s Championship. This year’s Central was scheduled for June 27th through 29th. Dates for the 2021 Central have yet to be determined. | 2020 Event Cancelled With the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizing committee of the Reliance Gregg’s Central Amateur have decided to cancel this year’s event scheduled for June 27-29th, 2020 at the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club.
This was not an easy decision to make, but we feel that it is the best course of action at this time. We want to thank our Title Sponsor Reliance Gregg’s for their ongoing support. We also want to thank all the sponsors, players, and volunteers that have made this event a success for nearly 60 years. The Reliance Gregg’s Central Amateur will resume in 2021 with the official weekend schedule announced at a later date. The organizing committee along with the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club look forward to returning bigger and better in 2021.
