Riley McKay (pictured) is a lot closer to rejoining Kirby Dach on a team.

The 21-year-old left winger signed a one-year contract Friday with the American League’s Rockford Ice Hogs…the top affiliate of the N-H-L’s Chicago Blackhawks for whom Dach plays. McKay and Dach were line-mates for the most part of the 2018-19 season with the Saskatoon Blades. Even though Dach didn’t return to the Bridge City Bunch from the Hawks this past season, McKay flourished in his overage season, posting career highs in all major offensive categories…including 19 goals amongst 38 points.
