One moment can change your life forever.
That was the case for the widow of Humboldt Broncos coach Darcy Haugan, one of the 16 people who died in the crash along with 13 others injured, on April 6th of 2018.
Christina Haugan is one of the guest speakers at Elim Church on Sunday night, hosted by Sisterhood YXE, and her message is forgiveness.
She has forgiven the semi driver who drove through a stop sign, saying even though so many lives were forever changed in that instant, she feels compassion because she knows he didn’t intend for it to happen.
Kaitlyn Cey, one of the organizers, says Cheryl Nembhard will also speak at the event.
She has had a life transformation from living on the streets in Toronto to becoming an award-winning filmmaker, playwright, author and social justice advocate.
Sisterhood YXE is a group of women and girls from all denominations trying to bring positive change to their community.
The inspirational event begins at 6 on Sunday and tickets are available until midnight tonight (Fri).
