You can have your cake and eat it too, and help out an animal welfare organization to boot.
National Cupcake Day is a cross-country event tomorrow (Mon) where participants bake cupcakes and then sell them for donations to a favourite animal welfare group.
In Saskatchewan, the North East SPCA in Melfort is taking part as is New Hope Dog Rescue in Saskatoon.
New Hope spokesperson Tricia McAuley explains that you register online with the national event, or you can donate on the same site.
New Hope is a foster-based organization that has been rescuing and re-homing dogs since 2003 and so far has found homes for over 33-hundred dogs.
Last year, animal lovers raised over $380-thousand for National Cupcake Day across the country and to date, has raised $3.5-million.
