Warrington says he didn’t believe the call was real.
“I wasn’t really shocked or anything, actually what I thought it was, was just a scam.”
Warrington and his wife Kathy aren’t sure if they’ll move into the home located in Saskatoon’s Greenbrye Estates. Warrington says they have cows to care for back home and they’ll have to think about whether or not to move into the city.
Warrington has been buying Hospital Home Lottery tickets for some time now and says it’s important to support the city’s three hospitals given that he’s had to use them recently for surgeries.
“I’ve personally have had lots of friends that have been to the hospital, family, we just need hospitals.”
Funds from the lottery will go towards supporting Saskatoon’s three hospitals including the purchase of an automated medication dispensing system that will be used in more than a dozen departments at City Hospital.
Four health care workers who all work in the same mental health unit in Swift Current won the keys to the $630,000 Candle Lake cottage, while Levi Brazier of Candle Lake took home the 50/50 add-on for $343,602.50.
