The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a long term care home around 1 this afternoon, after a 911 call reported smoke coming from Jubilee Residences at 2602 Taylor Street East. Fire crews noticed heavy, black smoke and quickly located the source, extinguishing a fire in the laundry room.
The Fire Department says everyone had already evacuated prior to their arrival. Firefighters performed searches, but no people or pets were found inside. A fire investigator hasn’t confirmed the cause and a damage estimate isn’t available yet. There were no injuries from this fire.
