Canopy Growth has received a licence from Health Canada for its KeyLeaf Life Sciences facility in Saskatoon. That makes 3 cannabis extraction facilities for the company with the other 2 in Ontario and British Columbia. Key Leaf is the former POSĀ Bio-Sciences on the University of Saskatchewan campus.
It’s expected the retrofitted facility will be online in the fall with the capacity to extract up to 5-thousand kilograms of hemp or cannabis biomass per day. Canopy Growth supplies medical, CBD and recreational markets.
The company says the KeyLeaf facility will extract cannabis, but it will also be used for value-added beverages, vapes, softgels and edibles.
