Meewasin Valley Authority work to combat invasive species continues today (Wed) In Saskatoon. University of Regina Graduate Student Shayna Hamilton is leading a team looking for Prussian Carp. The group including representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation will be taking samples along Beaver Creek and looking at the South Saskatchewan River. Experts say Prussian Carp can dominate and choke out native species of fish for up to ten years and can survive in extreme conditions. Anyone wanting to watch the team can join researchers at the river bank at 9 a.m.
