A famous artist who called Saskatchewan home has passed away.
Joe Fafard died at his Lumsden home Saturday morning at the age of 76.
“Joe died the way he lived, simply, unpretentiously, in complete serenity, with a twinkle in his eye, but above all with the full love of his family and friends,” said his partner Alyce Hamon.
The Sainte-Marthe native has had his sculptures and artistic creations displayed all across the country, as well as on Canada Post stamps.
Some of Fafard’s more notable works include the Paskwamostos in Edmonton, as well as the Pasture, located in downtown Toronto.
